My Students

Many of the students in my K/1 class struggle with learner to read and developing strong reading fluency skills.

I teach a K/1 Special Day Class.

Many of my students have autism and other disabilities that affect their academic success. Our class is fully integrated into a K-5 public school and many of my students are integrated into general education classrooms for parts of their day. The typically benefit from a structured learning environment that is predictable and offers repetition to learning basic academic concepts.

My Project

The Leap Frog Tag Readers will allow my students to listen to fluent readers. The TAG pen will become a helpful tool to emerging readers as it can read the entire page to the non-readers, or it can help students with specific words. It can describe pictures and allow the students to play games with the story. These resources are new and very interactive, and my special needs students need materials like these.

Reading is the key to all aspects of education and these tools will give them just one more opportunity to learn to read. Please consider donating to our classroom to help these children become better readers.
