Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. More than half of my students come from low-income households.
One-third of my class is made up of students who receive special education services.
Despite the many challenges they face, they come to school every day eager to learn. Our school serves students in grades K-8 and provides rigorous academics, fantastic teachers and a safe learning environment. A goal of mine is to provide my students with a safe and exciting classroom.
My Project
My classroom is in need of much-needed supplies to end the school right. The greatest supply challenge is the lack of pencils! My kiddos need pencils for daily use. Students need pencils to complete assignments in school, but also at home. My students can show off how much they have learned by writing their knowledge down.
We are running low or almost out of our supplies!
We need expo markers to show off our daily math skills. We need glue sticks, markers and crayons to complete assignments. All of these simple supplies are needed for my students to have a successful rest of the school year!
