Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are new to the school setting. They are kindergarten and for many this is their first time away from home and their first school experience. They are high energy and happy to explore and have new experiences. Most come from a low income background where resources are not easily available to them. They lack the income and opportunities that would help them enrich their lives. However, they are very thankful and appreciative and so are their families. I would love to be able to enrich their lives even further through a variety of learning tools.
My Project
I would like my students to create beautiful memory books filled with some of their work this year. I would like to have them create a book with work samples with neon card stock, colored paper, color ink, sheet protectors, post-its, etc. This memory book will be a summary of their best samples. I would love to have the high quality materials needed in order to do this. Each book created will be special to each child and cherished for years to come. I will include art samples, writing samples, math samples, along with holiday and friendship memories as well. It will be an excellent end of the year project.
