Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We live in a rural area where most students receive free or reduced lunches. My students are adventurous, inquisitive, and unique!! They are eager to be challenged and they love to learn new things! Many of the students in our school have experienced some type of tragedy or trauma in their little lives. It is my hope that providing them with a safe, secure, and nurturing environment will help them to grow and thrive in school and in life as well.
In our classroom, we are a school family!
This means we celebrate together and we strive to help each other be successful in everything we do! For some children, the goal is social-emotional well being and for others, it is academic growth. Creating this family culture has helped students learn to communicate clearly and build relationships with their peers.
My Project
We need STEM toys in our classroom. The impact of these toys would benefit every child in my class this year and for years to come! They will love these toys!
STEM helps to foster ingenuity and creativity and it builds resilience in children.
With these toys, I will encourage experimentation and teamwork in my students while also encouraging them to problem solve by using critical thinking skills.
To succeed in life, students have to be able to apply what they have learned to a variety of scenarios. STEM education teaches them to adapt the concepts that they learn to various iterations of a problem or issue.
