In my school, I never go through a day without a student's big smile and a happy wave. My students come from a high poverty area where resources are stretched thin. We are a Title I school where 83% of my students receive free or reduced-price lunch.
Often, my students struggle in school and really deserve the supplies they need to meet the standards they will eventually be tested on.
They are all visual learners and need concrete examples to help them understand and comprehend the skills they are learning.
My Project
My students will use the number lines during math lessons and individual work times. We have some right now but they are tearing apart. It is time for them to be replaced. My students love using them and they are a great tool for really helping them have a concrete understanding of math concepts. They also need some dividers and notebooks to make station activities that are well organized. The stations will be divided into different sections like addition, subtraction, teen numbers, measurement, and geometry. The stickers will be used as a positive reinforcement for reading at night and good behavior. When students fill in their 10 frame they will get a prize from our prize box.
