We Need Some More Filament!
Help me give my students new plastic PLA filament for our 3D printer.
The student population at my school is 95% Hispanic, 3% African American, 1% Caucasian, and 1% Asian. Over 80% of the students in my room are learning English as a Second Language. I see about a thousand students every week, from kindergarten to grade five.
My school is located in one of the poorest areas of the state.
Our families are plagued by poverty and high unemployment rates. All of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch, and some of them even go home with food on the weekends.
This is a request for materials to aid in 3D printing. 3D printers encourage students to be innovative and creative because they can adjust their ideas through trial and error all the while creating spectacular end results that they are very proud of.
We are running low on the filament, which is basically toner or ink for our printer and needs more!
3D printing is the way of the future! Students may print anything that they can design. This is just the beginning of 3D printing. Imagine years down the line when these students have graduated from college and become engineers, designers, and much more!
