I teach 8th-grade science in the Bronx. I love it. What more can I say? I never intended to become a science teacher- it was an opportunity that was supposed to be temporary, and now I can’t imagine teaching anywhere or anything else!
It’s super important to have access to all of the tools to make the most out of our time in the classroom.
My students work so hard in class, so I do my best to make sure they have the best of the best. They love to learn and soak up everything that is interesting and amazing about the world of science. As they quickly approach high school and NYS regents, there is so much to get ready for. I do my best, not only to prepare them for high school but also for college as well.
My Project
Having access to interesting nonfiction is super important. As so much of testing requires students to tackle difficult nonfiction texts, these magazines will allow students to immerse themselves every month.
Having had previous subscriptions before, these magazines are fun, exciting and interesting to read.
We always look forward to their arrival and sometimes keep the most interesting copies to add to our classroom library or to save for our upcoming students. The magazines also connect to the CCSS standards with activities in both ELA and math that connect to the articles.
They’re wonderful to use as supplements or for early finishers too!
