Music is universal, and should be available to all students. A child in music is more likely to succeed academically, and band students learn valuable life lessons through this unique experience. The band program in our town is happy to offer opportunities in music for ALL students, regardless of socioeconomic challenges.
Many of our band members receive instruments "on scholarship" because they simply cannot afford the rental fee.
These kids are just as creative, dedicated, and MUSICAL as the rest of the band members, and we are proud to offer this opportunity to them.
My Project
Each day in my class students consume supplies. One of the more expensive supplies that we use are reeds. High quality reeds are expensive and they don't last forever, unfortunately. In order to produce a quality sound and for my students to be able to reach their full potential, we need to keep this resource readily available for my students. Your contribution will immediately be used to help my students play their instrument in class, at home and during performances.
Many of our families cannot afford to pay for musical supplies.
They know adversity more than most and have to overcome it in whatever ways they can manage. Music can be an amazing outlet for these kids. Your generous support could help change a life for a young middle school musician.
