This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students primarily come from extremely low socio-economic backgrounds and most do not have very good situations at home. Very few of them have any sort of technology at their homes, such as desktops, laptops, iPads, internet, etc.

The only chance they have for exposure to this type of technology is here at school and we are trying to expose them to as much as we possibly can in order to light the technology fire in them and inspire them to continue this journey through middle school, high school, and beyond.

My Project

Our classroom time in the technology lab is continually being disrupted due to faulty computer mice. We have older Mac desktop computers and the mice are almost all ten years old or older. My students are struggling to complete their technology assignments because we are constantly having to troubleshoot the mice.

A new set of mice would keep the kids on task longer which will help them learn and be inspired by all the awesome activities that we do in class.

It would also help free up my time to be an instructor/facilitator vs constantly fixing the mice like I am doing currently.
