My Students
My students are from rural Utah. Most students have one or more family members that are out of a job and struggling. In many cases, parents/guardians are not able to meet the students school needs. These students are excited about school, and want to be successful. It is important for students in early grades to create a strong foundation.
Our school will focus on the core subjects (reading, writing, science, and math) this school year, As a school, we work hard to provide an appropriate environment for our students, and teach them the skills they need later in life.
My Project
We need new books for our class library. The students chose the books that they were interested in, and books that were on the Best Seller List on Amazon.
It is important for our class library to be current because we do not have a town library.
Some of the books that we have chosen are adventure, and fantasy. The WWII books connect with our social studies curriculum. The students are especially interested in the Michael Vey Series. The students that struggle with reading the most, are the ones that are so interested in these books. They are very excited about choosing something new!
