My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them the day. Every morning, they bounce into our classroom with new stories to share.
These students deserve a safe place at school where everyone can be loved, cared for, and protected.
Though their home lives may vary, my school works to provide a consistently safe and welcoming place for students. These students have such a strong desire to learn and grow. It's amazing to see how the little things we do each day can have such a strong impact.
Many of my students come from families living in poverty or homelessness. Many also come from situations which have forced the students to grow up faster than any child should. The strength they possess inspires me daily.
My Project
Here in first grade, we are all about reading! We spend hours each day learning about new sounds and spelling of words. One of my students favorite activities is reading from our classroom library. Students choose books at their level each week that interest them. Our current book boxes are made of cardboard, and have worn down from frequent use. We need new book boxes made of sturdy plastic that will last for many years to come.
By donating to my project, you will help students develop a love of reading.
Book boxes allow students freedom to read books for enjoyment, which helps them to learn that reading can be fun! Please support my students as we continue learning how to read!
