I need to attend this "Building Resilient Classrooms with Social Emotional Awareness" training in order to be better equipped to serve my students as their case manager.
I am the Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Teacher at my school. I work with the students that have been found to have a disability that requires additional specially designed instruction.
My students are great kids that are incredibly smart.
They work hard and try to keep up with their peers. They typically just need a little bit of extra help, time or accommodations to get to where they need to be. That is where I get to come in and assist these wonderful kids.
My Project
This training will help me to expand on my social and emotional well-being and competence. I will learn how to merge the brain’s reaction to situations with an emotional response and strategically build professional capital.
This will help me to support my students with the skills they need to manage the complex situations that they encounter on a daily basis.
I will learn to navigate my own social-emotional health, and how to guide my students’ social-emotional well-being.
The key content involved in this training includes: developing strategies that focus on building self-efficacy and self-advocacy, exploring implementable content that is designed to support educators with stress management and combat burnout, navigating the complex systems, both internally and externally, and practicing mindfulness to cultivate empathy for students, and efficacy in regulating emotions.
