My students keep asking me for more mice! I am a library teacher in a typical urban neighborhood, so we may have seen one or two mice. But lately, my students want to see more Babymouse in the library and ask me for a new book from this series every day.
The excitement over the Babymouse Series has taken over my library! Students can't get enough of these graphic novels that are high interest and low level...perfect for us. Some of our most challenging students have fallen in love with this zany mouse character that has tons of fun adventures. Who new that New York City children would actually love having mice in their classroom?
Of the 700 students in our school, 86% of them were not born in this country. In order for me to help these English Language Learners, they need interesting, low level books. We simply do not have enough to keep up with the demand and many of those students are becoming bored with the books that are left for them to choose from. Graphic novels are the way to go, and this series of books has caught their attention.
Your donation will make it possible for over 400 students to improve their reading skills, become motivated to read books, and learn English. It is important for a library to support the needs of the people it serves and I need your help to do that.
