My students are happy, excited kids who love to learn and love to read.
All the kids try their hardest, even though we don't always get everything we need to make each child as successful as possible.
I want every child to see school as a safe place to grow and learn.
This project will reach the entire fifth grade, all set in a rural environment. These students come to school eager to learn and excited about what each day may bring.
My Project
My students need engaging, high interest graphic novels to keep the love of reading alive! My students come into school talking about books. We share titles, scour the shelves for the next one in the series, and want to read more, more, more!
Some of the requested titles will complete a series or help students who have already begun a series.
These books will renew our energy and give us new titles that otherwise would not be on our shelves.
Graphic novels are by far the most popular format in my classroom. They fly off the shelf. In fact, half of the books I'm asking for are replacements! Once a book starts to look bad from wear and tear, we say the book has been "loved." Well some of these books are so well "loved" they now need replacing.
