This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

As the Business teacher, I am always looking for lessons to engage my students and give them ownership in their own learning. Having button makers available in class makes lessons into real applications.

Buttons can be made for advertising and also for fundraising, depending on the lesson.

Students are in charge of everything from the design and the assembly to the potential sale of their designs.

When creating their own buttons, students have to look at the overall cost of the materials used, consider the price they are charging, and calculate the profits PLUS they get to see their designs in real life. A second machine for the class means more students can be involved!
