This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach in a small rural school, with students from grades 6-12, who face challenges every single day. We want students to come to school every day ready to learn and be successful, but we lack some resources for our students to use daily.
We have a diverse group of students who are creative, intelligent, and passionate.
Our school is a rural, low-income school. Our students work hard every day to do their best to make positive changes in their lives.
My Project
This project is very exciting. We are looking for books to use for our Psychology and Sociology courses. Our school library is limited and we need more resources including a DVD of Community: Season 1. We are also asking for a DVD of The Maze Runner because we are reading the novel. There are several classroom library materials we are looking for.
My students love to read.
We have so much fun in these classes and we need more materials to be more effective.
These resources will be used by my class throughout the year. My students love social studies, but need some more resources especially in the areas of Psychology and Sociology. This project is asking for a variety of books for students to use in class and to be reference guides in the social sciences. There are not too many resources provided in these two particular subjects and there is so much to be offered. We are also asking for a brain model for psychology students to study.
