I have a wonderful bunch of kindergartners. I teach in an ASD NEST classroom. My students are curious and have a thirst for learning. I like to provide them with as many unique and memorable experiences that they may not get outside of our classroom.
We are a Title I school located in a low-income neighborhood.
We are a diverse classroom in a diverse neighborhood in New York. My students travel from all over the city to be in our school and really love to be part of our community.
My Project
These books will be used daily in our classroom library. I will be using them for our daily read aloud and to teach about social emotional learning. My students will be using the books for independent reading time, as well as taking them home to read with their family members. By adding more books to our classroom library, I hope to quench their thirst for learning and to continue to promote the importance of reading.
Our classroom is an inclusive classroom with children with Autism, and these books will help all the students to understand social emotional learning.
I hope that to instill a love for reading that they can carry out through their lives.
