This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The students come to school happy, energetic, and ready to start the day. My students love school, learning new things, and exploring their environment. They are an awesome group of students despite their disabilities with communication. I teach severe and profound intellectually delayed students.
Most of my students come from low income families.
Our school is a Title I school with grades Pre-K through 5th. My school is a nurturing and caring environment. The staff members and students interact and embrace my students daily.
My Project
My colleagues always ask me do I have a nursing background. The answer is no but, as a teacher I have medically fragile students that require lots of medical attention as well as teaching. My paraprofessional and I use lots of medical supplies daily such as hand soap, baby wipes, medical pads and gloves. We run out all the time and it takes a while to get extra supplies from the district. The budget is always getting cut so supplies are limited. We both will buy supplies out of our pockets when we have to. Your help will be greatly appreciated in helping to purchase medical supplies for my class.
