I am fortunate to teach math to a diverse group of learners. My 6th grade students are inventive, hardworking, determined, energetic, and motivated to learn. All of the students on our team that need extra math support are in my class.
It is important to me to make all students feel special and find their own strengths, however, the students in this particular class are falling behind their peers.
They need a boost in their math skills!
I co-teach this class with a student support teacher, and we are both very passionate and want all of our students to enjoy math. We need to have supplies to use with our students to help them all thrive and develop a love for math.
My Project
Students love to use dry erase boards as an alternative to writing on paper. I like them because they allow me to quickly assess student understanding of math skills. My current boards have been passed down over time and are currently scratched, broken, and unusable. We use the dry erase boards almost daily, and are desperately in need of some replacements. I'm requesting two sets of dry erase graph boards.
I would love to have reusable dry erase pockets to help save my district money and to be more environmentally friendly.
These can be used in place of worksheets for the students to use to practice. They can be erased and re-used, which will save the school district money and will also help the environment.
We are also in need of an X-ACTO electric pencil sharpener for our class because our pencil sharpener no longer works. Pencils are imperative for math class.
