While all of my students live in the same general neighborhood, their backgrounds, home language and cultures vary greatly. There are students with special needs, ELL needs, behavioral needs, and emotional needs. I set high expectations for all students and strive to give them quality experiences that they may not otherwise receive. Hands-on experiences are crucial for all students to deeply learn within the classroom.
My students are all excited to learn in fun, engaging, student-centered ways.
I am dedicated to not only teaching each student academics but also incorporating social and life skills (solving disagreements calmly, taking turns, sharing their thinking with others, including others no matter their differences).
My students are hard workers who love to learn about everything using a growth mindset. They add the word "yet" to the end of their sentences when they are faced with a roadblock. They always embrace the challenge that they need to try hard things in order to make their brains grow.
My Project
The many Little Spot books will help my students to learn about their many different emotions and how to keep them under control. Many of my students struggle to show their emotions appropriately because they haven't been taught how to recognize their emotions and talk about them.
My students love to listen to books to learn!
We have the Little Respectful Spot book and they love to listen to it over and over. Books are a great way to help children learn about their emotions. My students have really taken the message to heart and have been trying their best to take better care of the materials in the classroom and at home.
