This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

We are facing textbook woes! Our current textbook doesn't challenge our brilliant students and we need a class set of supplemental material from the Cambridge Latin Course!

Our students are the founding class of a new organization high school in Houston, TX.

Not only that, but they are the first students within the organization (that's 99 schools nationwide!) to take Latin! They are truly founders in every sense of the word!

My Project

The supplemental materials in this textbook provide a better presentation of the Latin language for our students. Our students are very visual and inductive learners. This text includes images and a rich source of historical material to get my students excited about Roman history and culture. Our students are deep thinkers and are constantly asking why, including why they should take Latin! This text provides them with a cultural and historical framework within which to see the Latin language.

We are currently building a Latin program and our students are the foundation of that program.

It is crucial this first year to lay a great foundation so our students can continue to have success in Latin class while also setting the tone for our future Latin scholars!
