My Students

My students LOVE to play "games" and earn prizes on the computer. IXL is a web-based programs that lets them review important math and language skills, while earning rewards and prizes.

I teach a very loving, active group of 23 second graders.

They love to learn new skills and expand their knowledge. They also enjoy playing games and working with classmates to review important skills. Our school is in a small, rural town in Tennessee. It is the only public elementary school in the county and currently enrolls just under 1,000 students from Pre-K to 4th grade. The majority of our students receive free/reduced price lunch.

My Project

IXL is a web based project where students can answer questions based on a certain skill (capital letters, addition, end marks, etc.). When they answer questions correctly, they earn rewards, prizes, and ribbons. The students LOVE working on this program. It is also a great tool for me (or the parents) to use to see what the student is struggling with.

By having a subscription to IXL for my classroom, I can monitor my students learning on certain skills in Math and Language Arts to see where they are struggling and where they are excelling.

Students LOVE working with this program and work hard to earn their rewards and ribbons.
