Help me give my students a variety of prizes such as Hershey bars, fruit snacks, graham crackers and candy they can purchase with tickets in our PBS Store.
I teach at a Title I school located in Central Florida. Nearly all of the students at my school come from low-income households. 100% of students are eligible for free or reduced price lunches.
This year, I am focusing on improving student behaviors through the use of a PBS Store (Positive Behaviors Supports).
Our students come from a variety of social, emotional and behavioral backgrounds. I spend the majority of my time working with students as a PASS Teacher, Positive Alternative to School Suspension. These are students that have been identified as needed extra support learning appropriate behaviors for school and students who exemplified behaviors that would normally result in being suspended from school and trying to re-teach positive behaviors and expectations for our campus.
Students will earn tickets for exemplifying the 7 Habits and making positive choices, the tickets will be traded in at our school store. This project will provide our students with a way to be rewarded for making good choices.
My Project
This project will help provide important lifelong lessons for 250 students. With this project, we will be able to set up a school Positive Behavior Supports Store in which students earn tickets by exemplifying the 7 Habits and following SOPs,.
This project will allow all of our students the opportunity to learn about financial literacy through a school PBS Store, as well as encourage appropriate behaviors.
Students will be able to choose from the variety of prizes listed within this grant (chips, crackers, fruit snacks). Instead of focusing on the negative behaviors (clip down, change your card systems) We are choosing to highlight the positive behaviors in which students are praised and awarded for following the directions and being model students.
