This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with over 95% of our students receiving free lunch. The need is so great. We are a High School on the West End part of Atlanta, Georgia. Our students at times have housing issues and financially struggle so they may not get appropriate hygiene needs and food at home.
The students deserve to eat, feel clean and smell good.
I just want them to feel better and help increase their self esteem. The kids have gone through so much before and after leaving school.
My Project
The items I've selected are basic care needs for all students. I am the nurse and I see everything. Your support would be so appreciated by me, the staff and for sure the students. The students will be able to come get cleaned up have a snack and go to class, This will allow them to concentrate on learning class work. Not filling self conscious or even hungry. A maxi pad for a female student goes a long way, most times they don't have them at home. This students deserve this, they need these essentials. The thinks most people take for granted.
