We like to play! Every day in our 3rd grade class, we do as many hands on and engaging activities as possible. In today's age, technology is a fun and relative way for students to learn. I would love to have more technology in our room to use each day to make learning more meaningful and fun.
We are a 3rd grade class in southeast Virginia.
We have a diverse population of students. We serve a large number of military children. Our elementary school is lucky to have students who speak many different languages. Due to the diversity of our population, there is a plethora of background knowledge in our class. My class is an inclusion classroom filled with students with many different strengths and weaknesses. We have a wide spectrum of learners, so, differentiation is a must!
My Project
We will use the iPads on a daily basis in our classroom during math and reading. iPads give my students the opportunity to practice math and reading skills in many fun and interactive ways during our center time. Students are able to practice different skills through apps and the use of Internet sites. These resources provide students with games and drills that are seamlessly educational and very motivating. We will also use the iPads for exploration and research. iPads enable my students to create iMovies and other presentations of our information. These technology skills are imperative for students to have in order to be productive citizens in the 21st century.
The cases will protect the new iPads along with one existing iPad in the classroom. They will help us preserve the iPads and allow us to use them for a longer time period.
iPads in our classroom will greatly improve our ability to incorporate technology on a daily basis.
Motivation and engagement of my students will greatly increase allowing them to practice different skills while having fun. We would love to have iPads in our classroom!!
