Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are my inspiration and without them teaching math and science wouldn’t be as fun. I have a classroom full of diverse, intellectual, and eager to learn students. Every day is a new adventure and I admire their will-power to learn, even when it’s difficult for them. They provide me with the strength I need to become a better teacher every day.
They like to stand or sit on the carpet during whole group instruction.
They are very productive during group activities and working as a team is their specialty.
My Project
Flexible seating encourages students to find a spot that's is best for them, that spot will help the student remain calm, focus and productive. Flexible seating allows the students to stand, wobble or bounce which increase oxygen flow to the brain, blood flow, and core strength. Wobble seats and stools are also an easy way to pair students in groups for projects or small group sessions. Using flexible seating minimize distractions in the classroom and promote more positive learning during whole group and or small group sessions. During the school year, I observed a teacher that used flexible seating in her classroom. I noticed that the learning environment can have a great impact on student achievement.
