My students are a beautiful mixture of diversity on many levels: ethnicity, socioeconomic status, levels of learning, and more. In my classroom, we focus on project-based learning and 21st-century skills. My students are learning more than just content, they are learning real-life skills that will benefit them throughout their lives. Their creativity is always sparking new ideas for items that would help in their learning. Sometimes they choose supplies, sometimes furniture, and sometimes technology. When awarded with these materials, they excitedly use them to enhance their learning.
In these uncertain times, being prepared is essential.
The opportunity to provide items that do not need to be shared is vital to learning. In addition, having cleaning items and care items on hand is such a valuable resource in keeping my students safe healthy!
My Project
COVID has put a struggle in allowing students to work in groups. Sharing supplies and distancing requires some creativity to make it work. I want my students to learn 21st-century skills, such as collaboration, creativity, communication, and critical thinking. If students have their own set of art supplies it will help immensely with moving forward with projects.
Working together is essential after COVID remote learning.
Students in my classroom will use TVs to project laptop research, projects, and allow students to work together while safely distancing. Students benefit from being able to work together, and I hope to provide them that opportunity.
