My Students

My school is Title I and located in a small North Carolina town. It has a diverse population in which the majority of the students are economically disadvantaged. Almost half of my students are also learning English as their second language. My students are full of enthusiasm about learning but often come to school without the necessary tools. As their teacher, I want to provide them with all of the resources they need in order to learn and be successful.

My Project

My students use laptops and iPads every day to help them with their reading and math. The games and software the students use require headphones in order to help them hear directions, listen to stories, and practice their academic skills. I have iPads and laptops in my classroom, but my class is in need of headphones. The use of the requested headphones in my classroom will help my students to interact with the technology. In turn, they will receive additional practice in all subject areas. The headphones will also help the students focus better because they will be able to hear only what they are doing.
