Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This is all new for everyone including both teachers and students. We simply don't know how teaching and learning will look in Spring 2020 semester. I have 150+ motivated students who need basic distant learning school supplies to continue their learning during the COVID-19 pandemic on and off campus.
My students have shown commitment and dedication throughout the school year, but the closure and now some are coming of school is leaving them without their yearly learning supplies since parents' jobs are not secured.
We are a hands on learning class that need to go back to lecture and note taking style. My students will be coming back to campus sometime during the spring semester and no equipment can be shared. Everyone needs their own set of everything to meet CDC guidelines.
We are a Title I, Performance Improvement school with 100% participation in the free lunch program. Many parents work two jobs and are struggling to support the family. Though their environment may not be conducive to learning, my students have an insatiable love of learning! I know that if we provide them with the right support, resources, and opportunists, they will become successful.
My Project
My students need headphones to complete online classwork to make distance learning more productive on-campus or off-campus. Just like the fall semester, we don't know what spring semester will look like with half of our students returning back to campus.
We got computers to give each student on-campus but now I require a headphones for each students coming back to campus.
No sharing will be allowed till further notice to meet CDC guidelines of not sharing equipment with other students.
We need new headphones to keep the learning process going. In my school, we use three learning programs Alek for Math, Achieve 3000 for English, and Khan Academy for everything else, which makes these headphones a for each student very important to their learning and understanding process.
