My students need their own headphones for the classroom. Our computer lab has headphones but they must be kept in the lab. We need our own for the class!!

Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Every morning students are supposed to be getting on to the computer to work on individualized math fast facts and a typing program. These programs need to be worked on quietly, so that the rest of the class can continue to work without being interrupted.

My class is made up of 22, sixth grade students with a variety of backgrounds.

My students attend an elementary school, where they are the oldest in the school. I teach two sets of classes that have limited materials. That's why it is so important to have a class set of headphones, so that each one has the same.

My Project

Not all of my students have their own computer at home. So when they come to school, using a computer is an exciting and fun way to learn. We have specific Math, ELA, Social Studies, Science, and typing programs that the students are encouraged to use. Having the headphones for each student, will allow them to work at their own pace and quietly, so that the other students are not being interrupted.

Having the headphones will allow my students to work quietly and be able to focus on what they are learning and working on at that time.

All kids work at different levels and having headphones will allow each student to work on their project.
