Help me give my students seating options that are developmentally appropriate and comfortable! Children should have choices for comfort and concentration as they work in the classroom.
We need flexible seating so students can work and be most productive in their own way and own space! The children spend lots of time reading and working around the room. Soft portable chairs, small seating arrangements, and soft rugs create comfortable spaces to read and work. Desks will remain a part of this flexible seating choice, but it’s great to have attractive and comfortable options for work spaces.
Creating a homey feeling in my classroom will allow students to be highly productive and relaxed all at the same time!
My Project
My students need options for flexible and comfortable seating. I have chosen a new rug and portable chairs for students to choose during workshop times.
These option allow students the choice of where they work and to be comfortable while they are focusing not on balancing in a chair that might be too big, while in their own developmental comfort zone!
When we think of our favorite reading spot, it's usually soft and flexible. It's a space we choose. I want my students to have those choices. The chairs and rug will allow flexibility and choice in an otherwise traditional looking classroom.
