Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My class is a wonderful group of children from many different backgrounds who live and learn in the city of Boston. I teach a 2nd grade, which means we have students full of love and enthusiasm for leaning!
More than half of our class is made up of students who are from non-English speaking homes; these children are in the process of learning English themselves.
78% of our student population is considered low income.
The items requested will help ensure that my students have many strategies and accommodations for reading, hearing, seeing, and learning the skills and content they need in order to succeed. As an educator, I know what we do in the classroom makes a huge difference in our students' lives, and these materials are critical for my students' success.
My Project
My students come from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds but they all need the same supplies to succeed! Please help us get crayons, colored pencils, markers, and daily journals to start our school year spectacularly! Our request is that each of our 5 tables of students have their own art bin with markers, crayons, colored pencils, and that each student have their own notebook to write down their daily thoughts and goals! There is nothing more exciting than having beautiful, new art supplies to start the year off on the right foot. Watching a child’s imagination soar when they have the art supplies they need is priceless. Thank you!
