My Students
We are the explorers, fifth graders from a Title One school in San Diego, CA, and we struggle getting all the school supplies we need.
Something as simple as dry erase markers can make a difference and support and engage students in their learning.
Our school budget is short and we have already spent on the supplies we need for this year. The reality is that we need supplies on on-going-basis. The box of dry erase markers we have purchased at the beginning of school year has been used and many are dry. Each student has his/her own and we use it frequently in the classroom for math.
My Project
We use dry erase markers everyday during math to do our daily warm ups or number talk. Students love working on their white boards, practicing and showing what they have learned.
We need help to buy 2 classroom sets of dry erase markers that will last the whole year!
These markers can dry fast and just one set is not enough, and it needs replacement. I see my students' excitement and level of engagement when they solve word problems or any computation using their white boards instead of notebook. Plus, they can erase fast and move on quickly to the next problem.
