My Students

Our students are a rainbow of little people. Their diversity is their strength and beauty. They deserve the best we can offer.

These students arrive daily with smiling faces, a sparkle in their eyes, and pure love beaming out of them!

They love the library and are learning that taking care of books is just as important as reading them, but too many students are struggling to read and need our help.

My Project

Diverse students need diverse books.

When kids see themselves in books and stories, they are more engaged and more likely to read the entire book, and then another.

This is the key to vocabulary acquisition, strong verbal communication, and better writing skills. This is the key to academic success!

Students of color are underrepresented in our current school library. These books will encourage young readers to read as well as encourage their spirits to push themselves academically and believe they can achieve great things in the world.

These books tell students of color that they matter!
