My students are amazing learners! I have fifty, very diverse learners in my classes who love to be engaged in science and literacy. They need hands-on experiences to help them focus and be excited about their learning. My students need many opportunities to grow as learners and they need to be up and moving.
My school district is very diverse and is currently one hundred percent of the students are eligible for free or reduced price lunches.
My students vary in their skill levels greatly and the more activities that create authentic learning the better! We try to build as many experiences as we can, into the daily schedule that promote student success.
In our classroom we use picture books to help us spark our imaginations and start to think deeper about many topics. My students need more diverse books that have heroes and heroines from many different cultures, just like the students in my class. These books will help open the door to language and vocabulary for many of my young readers.
We are a diverse class and we need diverse heroes and heroines.
Stories about freedom fighters, writers, scientists and artists teach my students that their dreams can come true. There are also many stories about perseverance and learning from mistakes that we will use to think about overcoming obstacles in life.
