Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My unique students are curious readers who love to explore the world through books! I have a wonderful community of thinkers who are motivated to become better readers. In small groups, I work with students to strengthen individual skills and help grow and protect their love of reading.
In our class we create a community that celebrates difference and promotes positivity.
Our community consists of diverse students who work as a team to help strengthen and support one another. They are amazing!
My Project
In my classroom, I need more books to reflect the different cultural experiences of all of my students. The rich books in this project represent a variety of diverse characters and stories. The characters from these books like Alma, Marisol, Julian and Ada will empower, engage and excite students. Students will also have the opportunity to explore other cultures and expand their worldview.
This project will help grow the love of reading in my classroom.
These books will enrich my classroom library. Students will have the opportunity to explore these books and take them home to share with their families.
