We Need Dictionaries

Help me give my students enough dictionaries so each of my students has one available to use when doing vocabulary from our novels and special units throughout the school year.

My Students

My students come to school to learn the essentials to become successful adults. They may come from Spanish-speaking homes or English-speaking homes, but each and every one of my students comes to school to learn.

Our students strive to do the best they can, by challenging and pushing themselves to do well.

My students come from very diverse backgrounds, which makes our classroom the perfect place for debates, discussions, and hands-on activities. The diversity leads to different views on each topic we cover throughout the year.

My Project

Using dictionaries in my classroom is a daily occurrence. My students use them to define our vocabulary words tied to the novel we are reading at any time throughout the year, as well as "new words to them".

We are in need of new dictionaries!

The ones I have for my classroom have been used so much they are literally falling apart.

Gaining new vocabulary is so important in a student's education. It allows for students to participate in conversations and have the ability to comprehend the conversation.

Having dictionaries in my classroom is so important to my students. Students having access to dictionaries to broaden their vocabulary essentially increases they reading comprehension.
