Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in a school in the southwest side of Chicago. The school I work at has a large population of Latino students whose first language is Spanish. In the years I have worked as a teacher, my students have come in every day with a lot of energy and many questions, ready to learn.
Fourth grade is a very exciting year for students.
During the fourth grade, students learn to become independent learners. Furthermore, throughout the fourth grade, students are exposed to many different text genres and develop many reading and writing skills.
One of the very exciting things about being in fourth grade is that students become independent readers. By the end of fourth grade, students leave having been exposed to many different genres of books. They also leave the fourth grade loving books and having learned new reading and writing strategies.
My Project
I am requesting copy paper that will be used to print out student work done on their Chromebooks as well as school work and homework to take home. Copy paper isn't the most glamorous item, but it is absolutely essential. With this donation, you will be helping students get the information they need in front of them.
Please help us get some copy paper so that our students do not have to worry about not having handouts and being unable to submit their research papers.
Their readings and tests will be printed on paper they can keep and in a font size they can actually read. They will have access to printed primary source documents which are not in their textbooks. With this donation, you will be helping my students receive the material they need for success.
