According to Dr. Seuss the more that you read the more things you will know. The more that you learn the more places you'll go. I want my 22 students going places
I want them to read, read, read!
But we need books. I cannot afford new books for my library center in my classroom. Most of my students do not have books at their house. They love to read and I have a lot of strong readers who are reading above grade level. I want to feed their love of reading with new books!
I teach in a low-income/high poverty school district. My students are faced with my challenges both in and out of the classroom. Their love of reading will help make them successful learners and take them on exciting adventures, using their imagination.
My Project
I have a library center in my classroom that is filled with old smelly books that have been handed down from different classrooms and teachers. I wish I had the money to buy all new books. I would love to have a library center filled with new books that my students want to read.

I want that for my students. I am hoping these new books help my students go places. Places outside my classroom, outside this school, and outside this community.
