Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our students are coming from homes of poverty. We do not always get the supplies that students need throughout the year.

Our students are sweet, curious children.

Throughout the year they learn and grow so much. They are always writing, drawing, and creating art. They love to work in centers and use their imagination. Doing this, helps them to learn by doing. To document how they learn, we create portfolios for each student.

My Project

In order to keep portfolios on each students, we need binders. These portfolios store the students work so that we can see how they grow and learn throughout the year. I share these portfolios with the parents so that they can see how their children are progressing.

It is important that we have these binders and labels to create portfolios for our students.

It always amazes parents to see how much their children grow over an entire year. Pre-K has a lot of hands on activities and we cannot document their learning without portfolios.
