Our class is like a classic "Stone Soup" because each person adds such an important, different ingredient to our school family! Our school is a kindergarten through fifth grade school in a suburb of Detroit. It is the largest elementary school in our public school district.
We speak over 100 languages in our district and celebrate diversity every single day!
Our neighborhood is comprised of students living in nearby houses and many apartments. We are in the process of consolidating high schools and other school buildings, so we are in a state of transition.
My Project
The second trimester is here and already our class is out of pencils, colored pencils, tape, and staples. It is amazing how many school supplies a hard-working class needs each year for active learning!
We are in need of some of the basic school supplies to write stories/work on math problems, color illustrations and maps, tape and staple cards, booklets, and projects.
Teachers do get a small stipend to use for school supplies, but mine only covered enough basic supplies for September.
Kids deserve basic supplies to learn! Many families generously send supplies with their children, but you would be surprised how many students are counting on school to come through for them! Please consider helping the students in need of a little boost!
