This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Once you step into my kindergarten class, you will meet some of the smartest, most well-mannered and eager learners ever! We had a great first semester, but unfortunately we are running very low on basic supplies.
My students are filled with so much promise!
They come to school ready to learn despite the adversity that many of them face. The reality is many families are simply unable to afford many of the necessities we need on a daily basis.
That is why this project is so important and necessary. They have shown show much growth since the beginning of the year and this project will make it possible to continue moving forward.
My Project
Many of my students depend on school breakfast and lunch as the primary source for meals. Unfortunately, many of them do not receive a well-balanced dinner in the evening . I would at least like to provide a healthy snack for them to take home each afternoon.
While it may not seem like much, this project would ensure that my students have something to fuel their growing minds until they return to school the following day.
Items included in this project will be distributed to my students daily. A similar project was funded in the fall and well received by students and parents. A "grab and go" station allowed students to choose one snack per day to take home.
By providing Pirates Booty, Cheez-It’s, Fruity Snacks, and Rice Krispies Treats my students will be exposed to healthy alternative snacks and the assurance they will have something to eat as they leave school.
