My students are high school students with disabilities.
I work as a Teacher Consultant in a public high school.
While I don't teach curriculum directly anymore, I spend my days helping my students get caught up, stay current, do homework, prepare for tests, and explore their future, and come up with strategies for how to achieve their goals, whatever they may be. Most of my students have learning disabilities which affect their ability to access the curriculum due to difficulties with reading, writing, and mathematics.
We are learning and teaching from home this year. I'd like to be able to do this effectively and continue to support my students in every way I can!
My Project
Teaching and learning from home is going to be tough on my special education students. I'm hoping that having a whiteboard at my disposal will help me be more efficient and effective in helping my students this year. Now that my dining room is my classroom, having a board to teach at will help us all feel a little closer to normal. With three different groups of students in grades 9-12 taking many, many different classes, this is the easiest way I can think of to be able to quickly switch from student to student and topic to topic as I attempt to help them with their classes.
