My Students

Fourth grade in a Boston Public School is a very important year. It's the year when students are expected to be able to read all different types of publications and genres and understand how they are alike and different. My students care about their learning and are deserving of this amazing gift!

My class represents a wonderful mix of students from all over the world, with a large population of students who are African American and Hispanic.

The class is made up of a powerful combination of students that range from regular education to special education to advanced placement to English Language Learners, with 74% of our school considered low income. Even though the class is different in many ways, these students enjoy reading about current events and discussing their views with one another.

My Project

This white board will allow for visuals and daily use for learning, sharing, creating and collaborating. Students will also be able to hang their ideas and work using magnets. It will also be used to project work since we do not have a pull down screen for our projector.

All of the students love to come up to the front of the class to share their work in all subject areas, especially Math.

By donating a new, clean, magnetic white board, collaboration and sharing ideas would happen multiple times throughout the day.

This new white board would benefit everyone, especially my special education and English language learners!
