My Students

I teach 1st grade at an amazing school! Students in my class LOVE to learn, because I make it fun and exciting. They are curious 6-year-olds that have so many questions about everything!

I want to give them real life experiences that they can use inside and outside of the classroom to make them life long-learners.

I teach at a great school in a pretty good area, because of that, our school does not receive extra funding for staff or materials. We have to work extra hard at funding our classrooms in creative ways.

My Project

Our classroom is need of a brand new clean rug for the kids to sit on. This rug will be used for several things during the day. The kids will sit on it during story time instead of sitting on the hard carpet.

During center time the kids will sit on this gorgeous rug and read books for fun.

They will play word games to help build their fluency. They will work on math games on the rug with a partner. The kids will sit with a partner on the rug and work cooperatively with them to answer questions. I know they will LOVE being comfy working on the rug.
