My Students

My students are future art teachers, engineers, architects, and so much more. These are the dreams that have been communicated to me and dreams that are fostered through the Arts. With many students who come from low-income households, my classroom is usually the only place these students can receive an education that supports their dreams.

I love my students' passion for school and their devotion inspires me every day.

When I forget why I am a teacher on those rough days that all teachers have, my students remind me through the things I see them create. When I see a child pour their soul into their art, when I see a student erasing until they get something just right, or when I see a student who doesn't like art but tries anyway, those are the moments that tell me how much these children deserve this. They show these artworks off with pride. They have a spark in their eyes and a love for learning and creating that is just unparalleled.

My Project

This project is to request refills or additional quantities of some of our most-used materials in the art room such as pencils, colored pencils, erasers, sharpeners, aprons and pencil grips. With students being back to in-person learning, they are making tons of art. We have amazingly gone through 3 class packs of colored pencils already! So we are very much in need of new ones.

New materials help reinvigorate learners.

These materials will be a great addition to our art room and help us get through to the end of the school year!
