My school is an inner city elementary school that is home to 650 students. Eighty percent are high needs students. Forty-five percent are English Language Learners. Fifty-four percent are classified as low income. Thirty-four percent have special needs. Our school contains the SAIL program for students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
My classroom is a sub-separate preschool for students identified with Autism Spectrum Disorders whose degree of challenges require that they remain in an alternative setting.
All of my beautiful, charming and hardworking students have different needs and goals. They brighten my day the minute they pass through our classroom door. I want to do all I can to help them succeed and shine.
My Project
It's a digital world for sure and with today's updated technology, it is essential that we have a working printer but also that it has wireless capabilities so that we can print from our tablets and phones.
We need a wireless printer that will allow me to publish my students' work, lesson plans, IEPs, assessment reports, tests, and differentiated activities and lessons that meet the needs of my diverse students.
I am asking for an HP DeskJet 3755 Wireless All-In-One Instant Ink Ready Printer and enough ink to last the rest of this school year and next year. I have chosen this printer because of its affordability but mostly because of the affordability of the ink cartridges, as that is the true expense over time.
Without a working printer in our classroom it is impossible to be efficient and produce the materials that my students need to be able to access the curriculum. They need specialized materials that allow them to proceed from what they know to mastering what they need to know. This printer is a necessary tool that will make a huge difference in the success of my students and my ability to produce materials they, and I, need on a daily basis.
