This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

A typical day in our classroom involves the students working in small groups, whether it been on shared projects or reading to one another or creating interesting artifacts they have designed.

I work in an incredible community in the Bay Area.

A majority of my students are Spanish speaking and receive free or reduced lunch. Because, my students come from impoverished homes it is beneficial for me to work with them in small groups to support their academic needs.

My Project

My students will use this table for all small group activities; reading, writing and math groups, speech therapy, working with volunteers and working on classroom projects. They will also be able to go to the table when they need a break from sitting at their desk or when they need some quiet time away from other students.

If I were to receive this small groups table it will make a positive impact on how I am able to teach in my classroom.

I will be able to access students on a one to one or small group basis, have a greater grasp on student achievement and get to know my students academic needs a little better. My students will have another space in the classroom to work on individual projects and group projects with ease, rather than having to sit on the floor.
