"All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten." Kindergarten is the most amazing grade level to teach! My students arrive each day happy, interested, motivated, and ready to learn. It is my job to make sure they continue to feel this way everyday. My little learners love all aspects of school including math, reading, writing, singing, dancing, and play time. My students come from an urban community where many receive free or reduced-price lunch. At school, I can have a positive impact on my students. I want their classroom to be a place where they feel engaged, interested, challenged, supported and most of all, loved. They bring a smile to my face everyday and want to do everything in my power to keep a smile on theirs.
My Project
We recently received OSMO creative and words kits through donors choose! My students absolutely love using both of these activities in the classroom. They are currently using the words app and activities to reinforce cvc word building and blending. The hands-on activities are such a great way to practice these fundamental skills!
This new project will allow us to use OSMO to reinforce the math skills we are learning in the classroom.
Students will use the OSMO math bundle to practice fundamental kindergarten math skills such as counting, addition and subtraction within 5, and subitizing.
OSMO has been such a wonderful addition to our classroom! The students look forward to using it each day. Having a master's in educational technology, I know the importance of incorporating technology into the classroom. I want to provide the best educational opportunities for my students and finding ways to keep them interested and engaged in learning helps accomplish this goal.
