This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are between the ages of 7 and 8 that all have different learning styles, personalities, needs, and backgrounds. Through reading, projects, centers, and many other activities, my students will show just how brilliant they are. These students come to school not only to learn but also to feel like they are cared for and loved.
When we are focused and able to pay attention we are able to let our minds grow with knowledge.
The students that I will have are the students that I have encountered throughout their elementary school years since the school I work at is so small. These students are kind and hardworking.
My Project
Flexible seating will allow my students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. During independent work times, they can choose a location in the classroom that works for them. Making sure students are comfortable is a great way to motivate them into focusing on their work and doing well. I have noticed that some of my students need to move while they are working which sometimes is distracting.
My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a choice of where to work.
The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating options to make more effective learning choices. The wobble stools are adjustable and will allow students to sit at a desk but will still allow some movement. The bounce ball chairs and the cushions will also give students the ability to move while they work no matter where they choose to sit in the classroom.
